Overview
Icon Water owns several high voltage assets across their various sites, many of which are nearing their end of life. Middleton Group was engaged to undertake a complete asset inspection and recommend upgrades.
Challenge
Icon Water desired a condition assessment to be performed on their ageing HV infrastructure along with a HV safety management system to ensure the safe condition of their assets into the future.
Solution
Middleton Group performed a detailed risk assessment on the existing HV assets to evaluate their current conditions and identify any possible risks arising from the future equipment. Middleton Group also conducted an audit for all high voltage equipment to confirm that they were operating within the specifications of Australian Standard AS2067. A high voltage safety management plan was also developed for Icon Water HV assets to ensure the safety and operation of existing and future assets.
Results
Our work resulted in enhanced safety and modernisation of the high voltage network. The modernisation of the HV network allowed Icon Water to present a robust business case for the capital works program.
